Isabella Minadeo, Commissioners, 614/525-3462

This morning, the commissioners voted to approve a resolution that will provide funding to support Franklin County Public Health’s Community Health Improvement Plan in order to strengthen pandemic education efforts and generally improve health outcomes for the most vulnerable residents of Franklin County.  The Community Health Improvement Plan is a comprehensive initiative of Franklin County Public Health (FCPH) to improve the health of the community, especially in the four priority areas of Chronic Disease, Mental and Behavioral Health, Maternal and Infant Health, and Overall Access to Healthcare.

Specifically, this resolution will fund the creation of a Countywide COVID-19 After-Action Report to review the county’s response to the pandemic and better prepare for future pandemics.  In addition, this resolution will allow FCPH to improve its communications and technology functionality, bring addiction services directly to residents, and to create community-wide maps showing areas of particular need for additional education and services.

This funding is being made available with funds from the American Rescue Plan.  You can read the full text of the resolution here and learn more about how the commissioners are using the American Rescue Plan to help our community recover from the pandemic and its economic effects at Recovery.FranklinCountyOhio.gov
